About this speaker
Pam Robertson Rivet started quilting after her friend Sandra set up a small retreat where Pam ironed for two days, and watched in wonder as her mentor sewed with her machine operating at full speed. Pam has made dozens of quilts, and collaborated on more than 200 while using techniques including free motion quilting, quilt as you go, longarming, binding, thread play, and raw edge appliqué.
Following nearly seven years in the army, Pam became a teacher, writer, and speaker. She is a best-selling author, and has written Legacy Keeper, A Journal for Quilters and Knitters; and, A Celebration of Tulips, an appliqué quilting pattern just for people who make things. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Masters Degree in Art, and Bachelor of Education. She is fascinated by the stories of women who craft, their stories, and legacy.
Pam is a professional member of Canadian Quilters’ Association (CQA), and member of The Quilters’ Guild of The British Isles, and the American Quilt Study Group (AQSG). She is a Threaducator for WonderFil, a wonderful Canadian thread company.
