About this speaker

I have always been creative, but for a long time I never felt good enough to pursue anything with intention because I compared myself to others. I realized a while back that everyone feels inadequate, like an imposter, and just plain not good enough sometimes. Living a creative life is about embracing faith in yourself and your art instead of fear of failure. We all start at the beginning, and the practice of making art and the process of making art is what makes all the difference.

I draw, paint, make jewelry, bake, quilt and am always on the lookout for something new to learn. While a young mother, my life changed. While I grew and stretched in amazing and sometimes difficult ways, I found myself again through the process of creating.

I didn't grow up loving to sew, in fact my seventeen year old self is laughing at me. I told my mom after years of trying to teach me how to sew that sewing was a dying art, and she needed to just let it die. Now, sewing is where I find creativity, solace, healing, connectivity, and enjoyment. Where everything I buy- my husband marks as "misappropriated."  I am mostly self taught, and am now a teacher, educator, designer, quilter, and quilt judge. I love the quilting community!
